
Thomas W. Kelly
President and CEO
Tom is currently the President & CEO of BankNewport and of OceanPoint Financial Partners, MHC, the Bank’s Mutual Holding Company. He joined BankNewport in November of 2002 from western Massachusetts where he was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of MountainOne Financial Partners, MHC and President and Chief Executive Officer of Hoosac Bank in North Adams, Massachusetts.
Tom began his banking career as a management trainee with Mellon Bank in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and has held senior management positions at several banking institutions. In addition to the above, was President and Chief Executive Officer at Bank Meridian in Hampton, New Hampshire; Executive Vice President at First Colonial Bank in Lynn, Massachusetts; and Vice President and Division Manager at Mellon Bank.
An active civic and business leader, Tom currently serves as a Director of the Rhode Island Public Expenditure Council, as a Governor of the Newport Health Care Corporation, as a member of the President’s Council for Charlton Memorial Hospital, on the Advisory Board of the Martin Luther King Center, on the Advisory Board and guest lecturer of the Roger Williams University Gabelli School of Business, on the Advisory Board of Big Brothers of Rhode Island and as an At-Large Director of the Massachusetts Bankers Association.
Tom holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Grove City College, Grove City, Pennsylvania and a Master’s Degree in Administration from the Graduate School of Business at Wichita State University, Wichita, Kansas, which he obtained while a captain in the Air Force.

Sandra J. Pattie
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Sandy Pattie is Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of BankNewport. She is responsible for planning, communicating, implementing and directing all activities of the Bank. With over 30 years in the banking industry, Sandy began her career at BankNewport in 1984.
She serves on the board of the United Way of Rhode Island, Rhode Island Bankers Association, is a foundation trustee of the Community College of Rhode Island and a member of Providence College's President's Council.
Sandy is a graduate of CCRI, Providence College and is a Certified Financial Planner.

Robert E. Maddock
Executive Vice President, Community Banking
Bob Maddock is Executive Vice President of Community Banking. He is responsible for retail banking and business development, including the customer service call center, e-commerce, deposit servicing, information technology, marketing and sales.
Having joined BankNewport in 1989 as Vice President of Administration, Bob previously served as Senior Vice President, customer and staff development. He holds a B.S. and an M.A. degree from Syracuse University.
Bob is a past Chairman of the Board of Child & Family Services of Newport County and a past board member of the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also served as Treasurer of the Newport Art Museum and is an alumnus of Leadership Rhode Island, class of 2000.

Dennis H. McNamara
Executive Vice President, Commercial Banking
Dennis is the Executive Vice President of Commercial Banking. He oversees Commercial Lending, Consumer Lending, Residential Mortgage Lending, Mortgage and Loan Servicing, Credit Services and Support, and our Administrative Services.
Dennis joined BankNewport in 1998 bringing valuable experience in commercial lending, retail branch management, private banking and credit administration with him from his previous positions with Fleet Bank and Rhode Island Hospital Trust National Bank (BankBoston).
Dennis is active in the community, having served as President of the Rotary Club of Newport, Chair of the Newport County Chamber of Commerce, and President of the Newport County YMCA.
Dennis earned his degree from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and served five years as a Lieutenant in the Navy.

Gregory Derderian
Executive Vice President andChief Financial Officer
Greg Derderian is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of
BankNewport. He is responsible for the finance department and loan review function,
including financial and regulatory reporting, asset-liability management, budgeting,
investments, as well as the development and implementation of financial models and
strategies. Greg joined BankNewport in 2010.
Prior to joining BankNewport, Greg served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Meridian Interstate Bancorp, Inc. and East Boston Savings Bank. He was formerly Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer for Mechanics Cooperative Bank in Taunton, Massachusetts.
Greg graduated from Bryant University in Smithfield with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business Administration and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is a member of the Rhode Island Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Financial Managers Society.
